
While cattle are the mainstay of eastern Montery County, they are not the only animals raised for fun and profit. There are also several big sheep ranches, and the occasional exotic.
Llamas and alpacas are raised in several places for their wool, and as pets, and, in the case of llamas, as guard animals for sheep herds.
But I didn't expect to find bison. Nevertheless, here they are, coexisting peacfully along with the cattle.
