An afghan based on a standard dishcloth pattern. For squares about 8 in on a side, CO 80 sts, knit one row, placing a marker in the center. Knit every row, decreasing 2 sts at the marker every other row until there are two stitches left. BO. For an adjacent square, pick up 40 sts along one side of the previous square, CO 40 sts and proceed as before.
It's all knitted in one piece, so it was very cozy to work on in
the winter. The yarns are a mixture of Utopia and Canadiana, both
100% acrylic. Being garter stitch, it stretches comfortably in
every direction.
The edging is also garter st, one ridge of each color. It took every #7 needle I could find or borrow lined up all the way around it.
